The company expects to begin sales of its ultrasound body sculpting device in Thailand during the current quarter. UltraShape Medical Ltd. (TASE: USLP) today announced that its Thai distributor has obtained regulatory permission to market the company's Contour1 ultrasound body sculpting device through the non-invasive removal of fat cells. Ultrashape expects to begin sales in Thailand during the current quarter. Ultrashape sells the Contour1 in dozens of countries, and it is undergoing regulatory procedures with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and China's State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA). The company expects to obtain SFDA marketing approval in the fourth quarter of 2011 or first quarter of 2012. Ultrashape's share price rose 15.4% in morning trading to NIS 0.015, giving a market cap of NIS 37 million.
