UltraShape™ has developed an optical tracking and guidance system that ensures safe, effective treatment. Using a single camera, the treatment area is captured by the computerized system. A state-of-the-art software algorithm is then used to map the treatment zone in 3D. The tracking system displays the mapped zone on the computer screen. In real-time, the guidance system then guides the user along the mapped zone, indicating which treatment point is to be treated. During the procedure, the tracking system ensures that each zone is treated only once, and prohibits treatment outside the pre-marked zone. As a result, there is homogenous coverage of the treatment area which ensures optimal results.

The tracking system addresses the dynamic nature of the treated area, a major challenge in body contouring. This means that as the patient breathes and moves, fat, being non-rigid tissue, undergoes spatial deformities. The system overcomes these obstacles by recording and synchronizing the body's position in real-time thus enabling the patient to move freely without impacting the treatment.
